i have an 08 ranger w/ 2.3L 2wd, and the problem i am having is when i put it in acMax and turn the blower on high, you can hear the blower blowing hard and all the speeds sound like they are working but no air comes out of the vents. all i get is cold air seeping out. i have to roll the window down just to get air flow. even when you put it on vent and turn the blower on high, it hardley comes out. i took the blend door acuator off and pluged a new one into it and it didnt do anything. just need a lil help. thanks

Very interesting. A couple of things to check. First, My first guess is the blower wheel is slipping on the motor shaft, or there is a major restriction in the system. However, even with leaves on the evap core surface you should get more air than you describe. Another thing that happened at Ford at start of production is the wiring was backwards and the wheel was going the wrong way. You would still get more airflow then you describe. Check my first guess.

I have a 86 Bronco II but have recently swapped in a 4.0L engine from a 93 Explorer. It is a manual M5OD transmission from a 98 Explorer. I am also a member of the Bronco II chat room but since I now have a 4.0L engine I am searching for information on this engine as used in the Bronco II/Ranger platform. I worked for Ford within the airconditioning department for 33 years, retiring in 2004.

Not sure if your problem has been solved but there is a screen that is between the inside unit and the blower. When I got my 08 Ranger I had to use a powerful vacuum to suction the dirt off of the screen. The last owner did smoke in it so I don't know if that makes/made a difference.

Many times the tubes will fall off of the compressor that blows the air, happend on my girlsfiends jeep all the time, just pop them back on and your good to go, they are located in the back part of the hood twoard the driver side, but it couldbe something diffrent.

Also check to see if it is just all blowing out the defroster vents as opposed to blowing nowhere like it seems.
