I read the article in the Mag. I loved it. I am sad to see the Ranger leave the US. I was glad to see that a major monthly publication said that this was one of the greatest trucks out of the box for four wheeling. The Ranger will be missed. By all of us here at FRF, and many more.

Agreed. But we can still rebuild ours and make them last forever.

my question is why they would get rid of the ranger? yes i know that the f150 gets the same mileage, but what about people that don't want a full size? i went from a full size to the ranger and i don't think i would ever go back unless i needed it. ford could have changed the ranger for the better, maybe come out with a four door and utilize a better v6 engine. perhaps a smaller eco-boost toned down a little? it doesn't make 100% sense to me.

The move already started here with some aggressive incentives. Companies aren't retarded enough to buy a F150 when they have no need for it (and let's face it, at least 80% of the full sized pickups we see on the road are just for show), plus the car/truck/van/whateveryoucallit has plenty of covered space in the back.

Why couldn't Ford maintain their fullsize truck profits while simultaneously updating the Ranger platform to make it competitive and appealing? What, cause they're worried about taking sales away from the fullsizes? Pffft they could have done both. IMO they wouldn't have pulled the fullsize crowd away from the fullsizes, but they could have pulled some of the crowd that NOW drives Tacomas and Frontiers and Colorados and Dakotas. Stupid ford

Homo Hot Rod! Had one for a rental...I touched the roof and the dash. You can't see out of them, and I felt like a homo.

As for fullsizes on the road...I agree, most of them are just for show, and it's stupid. Bring me an updated Ranger, with more luxury and modern items on board, I'd buy it.
