Sorry no Homo here lol it was my rental and I hated it! They wouldn't let me spring for the Mustang or Camaro on company money

Re: Four Wheeler Magazine (Ranger Article)
Ford did the same thing with the Probe.
and i know y'all hate the probe, but it sold well, and the 1st gens could hold their own with the v8 mustangs at the time.
Ford doesnt wanna kill what brings them the absolute best sales, so by cutting the ranger, it makes f150 sales better weather any of us ever buy one or not, most people arent make loyal like most of us, but are brand loyal, so they will buy the next best thing ford makes compared to a ranger.
if any of that makes sense, im drunker than hell. \m/

Face it, the ranger always suffered from similar press for being a compact pickup.
And, not to insult anyone, but i doubt the international ranger that starts around 30k for a 2wd would be very popular here.
Btw i liked the probe, the last gen looked really good in person (less in pictures).

Re: Four Wheeler Magazine (Ranger Article)
Thanks for the link; it's a mostly good story. I laughed when I read this, tho:
"Ranger production will have stopped by the time you read this, with more than a few lamenting its passing."
As I posted in a separate thread, Twin Cities is racking up some serious OT right now making our favorite pickup!

I think most fullsize people are fullsize people regardless of brand. The majority of F150/250 guys won't want a Ranger anyway even if its updated. Many small truck owners do upgrade to fullsizes, but fullsize people don't commonly go back to a small truck. Ford's not drawing the fullsize crowd away from the F150/Superduty by updating the Ranger platform. What they ARE doing is making the Ford fans who would've liked a new Ranger move to Toyota and Nissan and GM's midsize trucks (because its clear that THE OTHER COMPANIES ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT TRUCK GUYS WHO DON'T NEED A FULLSIZE.) Ok, SOME of them will move up to an F150/250, but just as many of those converts will move to the Silverados/Tundras/Rams etc. if they're in the market for a fullsize.
Back when the Ranger was the best selling compact truck, did it hurt their fullsize sales? It didn't seem to, because the market for the fullsizes is, has, and always will be there. Ford fucked up, they shot themselves in the foot AND they alienated us, they actually did both.
