Default Looking for some imput

Ok so I have been browsing the awsome photos of many of the members rides on the forum, and well I can't seem to decide what I like most, so thought I might get some input from other members.

My truck is a 2000 XLT 4x4 Flare Side w/3.0L. I am wanting to give the truck more of a brawny look. Some ideas so far I have thought about:

- Fender Flares
- Westin Chrome Bull Bar w/lights
- Tire upgrade (currents are scrambler 245/75/r16's)

I really have no idea on how to do a lift, or sure if I want to. Anyhow, would like to hear some ideas!

Also are there any body work experts who can tell me if I have any other option to fix the rust on the pass. side cab corner, other than replacing the cab corner?

Tire upgrades like the others posted, but stay away from the bull bar. It kills your approach angle.

Thank all for those who gave the input!

I have NO idea what I am doing as far as installing a lift kit. Are there places that can do it for you?

Also, I notice the tire chart says to go larger that "trimming and T-bar" adjustments may need to be made"

What is a T-Bar?

What kind of trimming?

And also are spacers needer?

Pardon my mechanical ignorance, I can change oil, plugs and the basics, but the rest is kinda foreign to me.

----------

Also, I know I am probably in the minority here, but I really kinda like the design of my factory wheels....although... I was thinking about getting them chromed and painting the areas that are grey/silver now a black.

Any thoughts?

Please, please, please--do not put fender flares on a steppie!
Crank your bars, maybe a body lift, new rims. 265's with a 1" BL, 285's with a 3". Be careful going to a larger tire though, it will kill your 3.0's performance unless you regear. Welcome to the forum. And please don't put fender flares on it!

Thanks for the info.... no fender flares..got it! (wasn't my 1st choice of mods either)

As for the T-Bar, is there just one? and how is it adjusted? does the truck need to be jacked up to relieve weight of the springs? Again sorry for the ignorance, but this is the best way to learn imhop.

Also does anyone know if there is a "pre-made" aftermarket light with the lens for HID bulbs? I know I can just add some HID bulbs to my existing, but don't really want to blind every on coming car on the road.

Again thank you all for your imput.

As far as doing a lift, what is all involved? I don't exactly have the know how or tools or even space to do it myself. Are there any recommendations on where I might have a lift done at? (I am in Indianapolis, IN btw)

Also, does anyone have experience or suggestions on how to take care of the surface rust on my right side cab corner? I really hate the idea of having ait cut out and a another cab corner being put in, if I can just grind it down and fill it in with some bondo or the like. Comments? Suggestions?

body work requires a good eye for detail. I would sand it down to bare metal and use a fiberglass body filler and if there is a decent hole then fiberglass mat as well. sand that down and a fine bodyfiller may be required for a final coat to get your lines back. I like using bed liner paint on the bottom line of the cab for protection against road rock dings and such. that would also allow you to not have to do alot of painting. hit me up for more specifics as I am typing on my phone.
