SWEEET!! my dad almost bought one of those but he opted for the 4x4 limited edition one he said the Adrenalin was too much bling bling forem. Ford woulda sold alot more if they had put the supercharger in and sold it under the SVT label like they originially planned.

But yeah the newer 4.6L v8 gets better mileage than the 4.0.

Your F-150 is also a 4.6 if I am not mistaken. Correct?

That's exactly what my 4.0 gets.
Even the older 5.0's get slightly better mileage

it still sucks though, taking an old Vulcan in for a tuneup so it can get 15mpg in the city instead of 13. still pathetic lol.

My fiancee loves it! And the F-150 has the 3.8 V8.

Basicly your 3.0 is too small and doesn't have enough torque to push your ranger around. It needs alot more torque than what you're getting. Plus the new F150 engines have a more flatter and broader torque curve than your normal OHV engine would have. Also once these new OHC motors are broken in, they're alot more fuel friendly than what you have now as well.

Dont know what your doing wrong, but I find it kind of funny, i have somewhat bigger tires, and am lifted and when i dont drive like an ass my 3.0 gets an average of 19-20.

Nice wordplay there.

I didnt say you were driving like an ass, i said when I dont drive like an ass.

Do a service on the truck, i did plugs and got maybe a 1 mpg difference.
You need to remember the 3.0 has not changed much since the engine was first designed. It was built to be a reliable engine, not so much fuel efficient, but has the chance to be, as long as its taken care of over the years.

So... Do a service and get back to us on that

I think a tune up would be in order along with replacing the piston rings, and maybe upgrading your valvetrain to newer components. Over time all engines lose power and his has alot of mileage on it. That would be a huge factor to losing what little fuel economy he had.
