Drivers window shakes going down
Drove me crazy since I bought the truck and everyone kept telling me there was nothing wrong and that a little glass cleaneer and you're all set .
I brought my truck in for a 30K mile check and an oil change and balance etc . I also asked them to look at my drivers side window that shakes when it goes down . They ordered a new weatherstrip , and 2 door channels as they say it is a known issue with Ford and that it is covered under Warranty . I guess they have to take the door apart and put the window channels and weatherstrip in . I have to drop the truck off Monday or Tuesday to finish the work . Just an FYI !

Re: Drivers window shakes going down
Wonder if that applies to a 92, lol. I mean, the warranty is non existent now, though but my passenger window does it going down also. Doesn't really bother me that much, though.

Re: Drivers window shakes going down
My drivers side window did the same when I bought my truck. I'll check my service record when I get home and let you know what they did to fix the problem.

Re: Drivers window shakes going down
Both of my door windows did this from day one. I took it in and when I picked it up they said they had "lubed" them..........I chuckled and gave it a chance, started again 2 days later. Brought it back and they replaced both window "channels" and made some adjustments. Has been fine for about 8 months.....

Re: Drivers window shakes going down
Sounds like the window regulator mounts are loose. I am not sure if the window is large rivetted on to the plastic/metal regulator mount, or not, but probably is. They stopped bolting them together years, and years ago. My 94 driveside is just a tad bit loose, and noticeable if I wiggle it. In all the windows I have replaced over the years it has been loose regulator mounts (the rivets in the plastic window mount shelf wear "loose" from movement) which does require taking the door apart, and fixing. Honestly believe the weatherstrip "spray" job is just a temp fix to allow the window wiggle to work in the window channel, and appear fixed temporarily.

Re: Drivers window shakes going down
Not sure but it sounds like you have dealt with this more than I have . Makes sense . It came like that from Ford as it was a new truck .
