yes, 100% of the time. and not to be cool or anything, I just do it to help slow down the truck. It is very helpful in winter with the plow on also

i do it mostly on corners i just swing it in 2nd gear to slow for the turn and i use it to help break sometimes

When gas was cheaper, I did more often. I usually go to N early and just coast up to a light. By the time I get there, the light has either changed or I am under 25mph and I break gingerly. I would rather do that than burn the clutch any more than I have to.

I'd rather shift into neutral and just coast, then brake.

Ok, Mr. "3 on the tree": It would be the same thing as you throwing your auto-tranny from D to 2 to slow the truck down instead of pushing on the breaks. One would do this in tandem with pushing on the breaks, but you don't have to hit the breaks nearly as much.

i do at times... depends corners yes sometimes... but i rather brake that downshift.. I figure my brakes are about 200 all together.. My clutch and labor around 800 to 1500

i do it sometimes it depends on the situation. normally i just neurtral drop it and use my brakes after coasting.

I voted sometimes, going from memory on the '96 I owned that was a manual. It's one of those things you just do or don't do without thinking about it.
I wanted another manual this time around, but there wasn't many used ones to choose from that fit the bill. Most were plain Jane fleet trucks.
