Found in an F150 forum, but this is the link to program a new key when all you have is one key.

http://www.f150online.com/forums/199...y-one-key.html

All you need now is a PATS key and I've seen them online even non-Ebay for less than $40.

Hope this helps.

Alex!...you found found them? That's awesome!
Now that you HAVE two working keys,
Get a third made (blanks on eBay)
And have it cut at Wally mart
You can ask the key seller for program instructions.
Do it! A new key with only ONE programmed key will cost
You upwards of $200 from Stealer-ship!

LOL....I did not find MY key because I never had two keys. I bought the truck with only one key so, hopefully fifthranger has some good insight cause I am going with his advice.

I'll update you all....hopefully with good news!

So the Ford chart states that you do need TWO keys to program a third key. I only have one key so I guess I am SOL. I am gonna go to the stealership and pay $110 =(

None of the WalMarts by me will do it....I checked =(

I just got back and am officially $124 broker! Has anyone programmed new keys using two keys?

The f-150 link states that my 2000 Ford Ranger needs 2 keys to program a 3rd key, yet the SPARE KEY PROGRAMMING (SKP) guide in the link below says that you can do it with one. I am a little confused.....and key techs on here that can explain this? Why would it say I need 2 keys, but the SKP says u can use 1? Why would people erase their PATS module of previous keys if they do not have a programmer tool?

My obvious answer would be that the truck can run with any key and the vehicle will no longer have the enabled PATS system.....is this true?

These are the links you'll need.

http://www.f150online.com/forums/199...y-one-key.html

AND

http://www.carquest.com/common/downl...h_Bulletin.pdf

These are the steps, but they do not seem to make since because the instructions say you need TWO programmed keys to make a third key.....than provide instructions on how to do it with only one key

LOL.....yeh keep looking because I let family and friends borrow the truck when they stay with us so 3 keys would be ideal. I am not paying another $124 for the 3rd so....I would be in your debt =P

Unfortunately, as my other post states, my buddy hit my garage on the way out this past week and broke my damn driver mirror. How do you back into something that has to pass YOUR BODY before you hit it is beyond me!!! Good thing we found a new one on ebay for $40 shipped and will arrive on Monday.

I am finally getting the truck to were she needs to be. Only things left are my cruise control buttons, driver mirror, driver door lock actuator, and driver door window seal. I have 3 out of the 4 in the mail so I am doing good !!

Sweet......so all I have to do is:

1-buy a key from ebay
2-get it cut
3-follow programming instructions?
