Default question about the ac/ heat blower motor

(see signature for truck details) when i'm running the AC my fan only works at high and second highest but the second highest seems like it would be the second lowest setting. and when i turn to the second lowest settings speed doesnt change then when i turn to lowest speed setting the thing doesnt blow at all. any advice?

Blower motor resistor - seems to be burnt out on those settings that don't work.

I vote resistor too. It's in the engine compartment on the passenger side at the bottom of the fan housing. It's probably all corroded too.

I had to destry my old one to get the plug and the resistor apart. The connector was so corroded that I had to get a new pig tail from the dealer as well as a resistor. I RTV'd the crap out of the back of the new plug and loaded the socket where the plug goes into the resitor up with dielectric grease. Hopefully, that will prevent it from happening again.

Changed my resistor block a while back. The thing is too exposed to the weather conditions to prevent corrosion. I found the thing came apart from the plug badly, so I went to the option of individual wire clips and heat shrink on the wires, rather than trying to locate another plug. This fixed the problem and I have the different speeds again. I wish this had been mounted inside the cab under the dash, but then it probably would be too hard to change!
