Default Buying a new ranger?

I'm thinking about buying a new truck, one thats 4x4 and one thats around the price range of 2000-3500. I'm going to Craigslist my current 2003 2.3 cyl 2wd and get something different. Point is I was looking into some direction about what years are better and what should I expect to find in that price range?

NEW? oh!...New to you!
4x4 Ranger i always liked the 94 and up

expect to pay about $3000 for a good condition one.
I would get a stick shift
Manual Transmission will last longer if maintained correctly.

It's not even that it will last longer but better mileage probably. I'd settle for an automatic if the price was right though.

I wouldn't... same auto's have failed notoriously in exploders for years. Manual or nothing IMO. It's $3,000..... don't piss it away. Find a good truck and enjoy it
