yes. it was needle scaled, sanded with 80 grit, degreased, and prepped with metal ready, then the first layer was a coat of por-15. let that dry for a couple of days, went back sanded, and degreased then painted with this silver paint. its just heavily rust pitted.

----------

plus i didn't want to take too much off. in case it started bleeding lol

yea i know, i did put a coat of clear over it. it reduced the glossiness and it helped hide the pitting a bit. thanks for the comment

no prob and trash that spare tire i bet if u look at the size it will infact be the wrong size. my ranger came stock with 31 inch tires from the factory and had a tire 2 sizes smaller than my stock size. i would check it and see and if it is maybe find ur same size tire and put it on the rim and stuff it back under ther. i have seen a 33 fit under there before so u should check it out bro

thanks, and yea the spare is only a 235 my truck is running 245's right now. they are pretty low on tread so probably by next year i will buy some new 265's and put a bit of a lift on it. i will also get a new spare. that was just my shitty 10 minute paint job on that spare, i don't really care if it looks nice just wanted it to not be rusty.

It looks ok, but I probably would have went with black paint or a new cover. IMO.
The silver really makes all the pitted areas show up more.
Of course no one will see it unless you run over them. Lol!
