Default Re: what kinda MPG are you getting?

I've only had two fill ups but I got 18.1 the first fill and 18.8 the second with a 4.0L, 5 speed with 3.73 gears. It's still within the break in period, so it might get better, maybe... I can't complain.

i get rougly 17-18 per tank mixed driving. having an ultra gauge that tells me real time mpg really helps my driving style, and i rarely go over 65 on the freeway.
33x12.5 on stock steelies, mid travel front suspension, tube bumper and full skid plate.

i heard it's worse for the pump since the gas dissipates heat generated by the pump. my ex gf's ex before me fried the pump in his truck because he basically always kept his truck around empty. cheap ass.

I've heard the same.

I've also heard the pumps are lubricated by the fuel as well. It's possible, aircraft fuel pumps are. Even back in the day when aircraft jet fuel was gasoline based. The Air Force has switched to a kerosene based fuel but when I started in 1987, it was for all intents and purposes, gasoline.
