Default Cab recomendation..

So as some of you may know, I am still in the hunt for a Ford Ranger..I've got it narrowed down to a couple in my area, but I have a question.

I'm 6'4" so of course I need plenty of leg room...would a regular cab Ranger provide enough leg space for me, or should I look strictly at ext cabs?

Just go for an extended cab. Im 6'6" and never rode in a standard ranger but the extended cab just gives you that nice extra storage area to keep stuff out of the bed. Or a sub and amp etc...

The jump seats are quite worthless don't expect to seat 4 people ever though, i took my back 2 jump seats out lol

I dont know how much extra leg room you'll gain from an extended cab, but I do prefer extended. I often use all of my bed space for hauling stuff, so I cant afford to lose cargo space on a utility box. The space behind the front bench is excellent for storing things both long term (i.e., hydraulic jack) or short term, such as groceries or luggage when going on a trip.

My advice- test drive some trucks and see what fits you best. One of my buddies is the same height, and he said my extended cab was tight. But he normally drives either a 250 king cab or an Excursion, so he is probably spoiled by the leg room these vehicles offer.

im 6'2" and I drive a regular cab and its a little tight, but not terrible. Sure, I would like an ext cab truck, but I also love having a long bed. It all depends what you want more, leg room or hauling room

ext cab ftw. Im 5'6 and with the seat all the way back I can still reach the pedals. I dont drive that way, but at 6'4, you will most likely have the seat all the way back. I also had a reg cab and there is alot more room to move the seat back in an ext cab than reg cab.

----------

you can always snag a bed extender for the short bed and gain the lost space

Definitely get the EXT Cab. My buddy has a regular cab and I have to slide my right leg in under the steering wheel and then gradually slide in. Well worth the money.

i wanted an extended cab just for the extra space, and i got one, but if you find a great deal on a single cab i would jump on it.. just keep your options open. Go test drive one and see if there is enough space for you.

Go extended. I have a regular and would only buy and extended Ranger in the future.

also depends on what you doing with it to in my opinion. I'd almost rather have a single cab for looks. A single cab looks dope when dropped with rims and side exhaust, but ive seen a white extended cab lowered on saleen rims that looked badass too. Just personal preferance

im 6'2 with a regular cab and a sub behind my seat. I fit fine but my knee barely hits the bottom of the dash. I like the looks of regular cabs better but i hate how I cant slide my seat back and I have NO storage what so ever in the cab unless I use the passenger seat.

I think I'm most definitely going to go for the extended cab!! I definitely want more leg room/inside cargo space as compared to hauling space seeing as I'm just using it for college.

Hopefully I'll be getting a Ranger within two - three weeks. I've got 3 that I'm narrowed down too..all extended cab.

Be sure to get a four-door, I have just the Supercab. While I like the space it's almost useless becaue the seats don't fold enough to fit a nice tool box through the door opening. Especially if you plan to have access to any tool box that is full of anything heavy. I kick myself, when I got my truck I just assumed all Supercabs where four doors, when I got home I spent an hour trying to figure out how to open the door only to find out they don't
