Re: my fiances new ride (official thread)
If I was in the market for a fairly basic car kia's are decent. My sister had a 02 kia and it wasn't a bad little car. I barely fit in it though lol.

Re: my fiances new ride (official thread)
Less hate on each other more hate on Kia. I have owned Kia and Hydaundai(sp?) Had issues with both...alignment was never right, and on my sisters Elatra(sp?) she had her frame bent and the told her she put too much weight in the trunk...all she had was a stroller in there it wasn't that heavy...

Re: my fiances new ride (official thread)
But to defend the Forte now that I got my hate out, a friend of mine has one and loves it. It is also the 2 door one she has had it for about a year I think. And has not had issues. Other thing from friends with Kias once they have been wrecked they are never ever close to the same. I know no car is ever the "same" but from what I know Kias are wrecks just go down hill fast...I hope for the best for you and your lady, now to second Buggman, sexy pics with her and the car!

lol thanks for the good wishes, i think overally Hyundai and Kia have made some real strides since 2006 and have improved beyond Toyota (since they have so many issues lately)

Re: my fiances new ride (official thread)
Sad, I am aware of these vehicles but have no input. o.O
I've only owned two rangers, and my parents while I was growing up never owned anything smaller than an Explorer, basically. My dad's vehicle lineup doesn't include anything with less than 6 wheels X-D and my mom's is pretty ford loyal haha. Of course, I don't count our classics.
But on a sidenote of warranties. "bumper to bumper" has its loopholes, be careful! haha.

She bought the car new in 2002 ,It is a GT 4cyl 4dr Manual model leather/loaded
ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES!
well..actually ...the only issue would be that the sunvisor mirrors lost its adhesion at 98K and we had to glue them back on! LOL
The 100K warranty just ended last month so we're looking for another one
the 2011 Elantra looks awesome!(but it is still a little too much for us to spend right now-$20K+ tax)

Sounds good, i love the look of those GT hatchbacks, Perhaps a forte 4 door used would be more in your budget, I have seen them for $15K with low miles and fully loaded

Re: my fiances new ride (official thread)
the car rides great (sporty but not too stiff, great responsive auto, kicks down with no delays, even the paddle shifters are great. its powerful too. does 0-60 in 7.6 secs (2.4L) worth a test drive at least.
