Default Need 2004 Ranger owners' help!!

Hello everyone. After receiving such a warm welcome last weekend, I am back with a few pics, and boy do I have a lot of questions!!! Here is my situation. I just bought this 2004 Ford Ranger XLT from a local second-hand shop. I am a bit puzzled as to know how come mt 2004 doesn't have suicide doors, and fog lamps. It has all the rest of the options (electric doors, mirrors....) Are there different versions of the XLT? I checked with CarFax and my VIN number matches a 2004 Ford Ranger XLT. I have many more questions, but I will separate them in different threads. Please give me your input! Thanks!!!!

Serge

Not all extended cab rangers had 4 doors. Rear doors are optional. I know it's ridiculous and a total crock of crap, but it's true. There's no excuse for it not to come standard with 4 doors, but that's just one of many examples of how Ford has us by the ballz.

Ford: Want the best compact pickup on the market?

Us: Yes.

Ford: Then bend over, bit**es. We keep more money in our own pockets, and make more money off YOU, by making optional the features that we know damn well should be standard. You want rear doors? You can have them, but you better show us the money. And there's nothing you can do about it. You can take what we give you...or you can go drive an ugly ass POS Colorado. You want a Colorado?

Us: No

Ford: Didn't think so. Now shut up and give us your money.

Us: Okay.

...Very funny analogy, but oh so true! I am not happy to hear the rear opening doors are optional, but I am happy to hear I did not get ripped off. For a moment, I thought ALL XLT's supercabs had rear opening doors in 2004. Is it still an option on the 2010 model???

Thanks!
Serge

LOL Jay!

Welcome to the site! You have what is sometimes called a 'value xlt 4x4' package truck....aka no fogs, but has 4x4 bumper, probably has vinyl floor, and if xcab, most are 2dr. One step up from base model. Yet one step lower than the normal run of the mill XLT truck.

Mines a normal XLT, almost fully loaded...missing the power options(doors, windows, mirrors).

And yes, it is stupid as hell, but you can still get 2010 x-cabs in 2dr form. Only truck out there that you can still do that.
