Default brakes squeak on release?

My truck squeaks pretty loud when I release my brakes. It makes ONE squeak. It does not have a constant squeak when I drive, only when I release the brake pedal. My brake pads are almost brand new and I replaced my calipars thinking that was the problem but they still do it and I just wasted money! Its really annoying.

Any idea what it could be? master cylinder?

So I'm guessing it sounds like it is coming from the front when they squeak?

When you changed your calipers, what were the condition of your slider pins? Did you lube the pins and the contact points on the pads with brake grease? Sorry if I'm making it seem like you might not know what you are doing but I don't know what you know, so I have to ask to cover the bases.

A "squeak" would seem to indicate some sort of metal to metal contact rubbing as you release your brakes.

As advised above, ensure that your pins and sliders are well lubricated with brake lube - the silicone type, high temperature resistent.

On the contact points of the brake pads with the calipers (not the piston side), some mechanics will place a thin film of rtv silicone, or that sticky, spray on stuff (I forget the technical/proper name of the stuff) so that there is thin cushion preventing metal to metal movement.

----------

You may want to check the anti-rattle clips too, maybe, though it doesn't seem that there would be much rubbing here that would account for squeaking.

I did lubricate the brakes but all I had was a little left over lube and I was too lazy to go back out. Ill guess that will be my starting point. I just didnt think it was going to be a big deal.

oh and the slider pins have all been replaced with new ones.

Another thing to look at is a possible intermittant splash shield contact if they are slightly bent. Just a possiblity...
