Your favorite engine Oil...
What are your favorite brands of engine oils? Mine so far are as follows: Motorcraft, Royal Purple, and Mobil 1. My least favorite is Quaker State. For some reason I just don't care for QS.

Re: Your favorite engine Oil...
I've went to walmart (penzoil) for my cars for years and never had a problem, i'll trust them with this one too when comes the time to switch to synthetic.
The fact they charge 40$ less than ford factors in too.

Re: Your favorite engine Oil...
I just started to use AMS Oil in my vehicle trying to see if there is a differance between conventional oil and synthetic. Most of the time I use Castrol oil.

Re: Your favorite engine Oil...
I've used Pennzoil in the ranger since it was bought and my dad's ran it in the past two astro vans, and we've never had any issues. I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Re: Your favorite engine Oil...
I generally run Pennzoil Synthetic. AMS Oil is supposed to be very good, but I will not even touch Royal Purple with a big stick.

Re: Your favorite engine Oil...
Im going to add this disclaimer, before I go any farther. A choice of oil is a very personal decision and can start fights.
Personally, I stick with Castrol. I have used it for years and have not had any problems. I put Castrol High milage in my Ranger and Synthetic in my wife's car.

QS is a waxed based oil. Others are petro based.
I like mobil 1 and castrol. They are on sale every other month at advanced, 5 qts and filter for around $30. cant beat that. Filters are usually, mobil 1, K&N, bosch

Re: Your favorite engine Oil...
Just to add there is a lot of good information out there. Check out ehow.com and popularmechanics. They both have very good articles on the subject.
