Default Passenger door contact

Having problems with the "door open" light coming on. I have narrowed it down to be the passenger door which doesn't seem to make very good contact with the frame. Either that or it is loose. Light will go away for a few minutes if I pull hard on the door from inside, but as soon as I make a hard stop our turn a corner it comes back on.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Use the search feature

Door Ajar Alarm

Short of the long is soak it with some WD-40 and open close the door a few times to work it in.

If the search function works on this site it'll be the first i've ever seen work properly but thank you for the detective work, I'll have to try that WD40/ PJ1 combo

I used lithium grease, or WD40 when that happens. Just spray the latch, open and close it a few times and you should be good!

I have tried WD40 before and it seemed to intermittently go away more than usual, but thats about it. From reading the posted thread i'll have to give the cleaner a try and see if that gets rid of the gunk buildup...

Try a degreaser to clean it a little, then nuke it with lithium grease. I only had to hit mine once with that and it never happened again

Gotcha.

Did you take apart the door panel and remove it or did you just grease it down from where it is?

I just greased the latch where it was and it worked. No need to take anything apart

Ok, so after using some electrical parts degreaser and lithium grease the door ajar light went away. Now my center dome light won't come high. I thought the bulb had just burnt out but I checked it with a meter and its not open. What could have they disconnected?
