Default A supercharger Link.....

For those whom are interested in supercharging their rangers here's a direct link to a company that makes supercharger for small displacment engines. I've already checked for compatability. This company states and I quote: "A supercharger specifically designed for small sport compact engines ranging from 1.4 liter 4 cylinder engines all the way up to 4.0 6 cylinder engines." The company is called Vortech Superchargers. So here is the link to that specific product:

http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/view.php?pcat=19

A couple of members that are close friends of mine already received this link before this thread was posted. I would recomend rebuilding the engine from the ground up with forged internal components and doing some cylinder head work before installing one of these kits. Rough estimate on power is around 550 Horsepower and roughly about the same concerning the Torque output. They aint cheap, but they're about the only ones that make a supercharger designed around the sport compact engine lines that are availible today. So rather than being selfish and keeping it to myself (L.O.L) I decided to share it with my FRF buddies. So enjoy my friends. Also if I find any additional or new parts that are designed for the ranger, I'll post them up for you guys as I find them.

what's the difference between clockwise and counter clockwise setups? if i parked my 2.3l ranger and rebuilt the whole motor i'd look into this no doubt!

Biggest difference there is what side you mount it on, because you have to put the belt on correctly so it spins the air toward the engine not away

Alot. If you take a look at the way forced induction works real closely you can see that there's a pattern to it. If you pick the clockwise direction and your main drive belt goes counter clockwise you've just destroyed your motor and you're in deep trouble. You must know which way your pulleys and belts turn to get the best affect and the most out of your supercharger.

Yep. That pretty much determines of which side it's mounted on.

It's not very hard to do at all. But it can be time consuming if you don't have the tools you need to do this mod. 6 hours is the minimum I've seen one installed with a full blown garage and someone with exp. Now if you have the tools and knowledge but no garage it could take more time than you'd want it to. The hardest part is tuning the supercharger in a different way than you think. The handheld tuner is the easy part of it. The harder part is dealing with the right internal components, which pulleys work best with your set up, did you get the right cylinder heads and valvetrain components.

Well it will require alot more mods that's for sure. The tranny would have to be changed, depending what rear end you have you might be able to get away with using the stock housing but you'll end up changing the rear diff. The driveshaft won't matter really, until you change the tranny or rebuilt the one you have using forged components. There's alot involved here that's for sure. And I never did say it would be easy. I do know it's an extremely expensive project to undertake. But this only one small aspect of it (the actual supercharging of the engine).

Clockwise and counter clockwise is very important to know depending on the vehicle. The Rangers run clockwise. My CR-V runs counter-clockwise. It all has to do with engine setup.

Edit: BTW, the picture they show is of a TURBO charger, not a supercharger. Big difference!

Edit #2: I saw another picture of another model. It is a super charger. It's just a very non-traditional design... My bad.

Lol, don't mind me, as all my friends can tell you I just hate Honda's. I've actually built or helped build more Honda's then I care to think about...which may be part of my hatred, I just can't stand them. But I will give them all this...they run like champs...when left alone!
