Are brakes covered under factory 3/36000 warranty.
2010 ranger 4 cyl reg cab stick shift.
When driving on the highway at about 70-75 MPH my ranger shakes when slowing down by stepping on the brakes. Not a lot alot, but noticeable.
Ranger has 21,000 thousand miles, if i take it in to dealership will they fix it no charge or brakes are not covered??

brakes, tires, lights, wipers, and anything else considered "highly wearable" are covered by factory warranty for 12months, 12,000 miles

Atleast you asked before you brought it in, my mom brought her edge in thinking it was covered under warranty, cost us 150 out of pocket just for them too look at it

Re: Are brakes covered under factory 3/36000 warranty.
brakes are kind of a grey area...if its wear and tear theyre not covered but if a part of them fail i.e a pad falls apart then they are covered because that is a part failure

They could also get ya if you had larger tires and rim on the truck. They could claim it was the larger wheel/tire that caused them to go out.

very valid point...a manufactuer will try and avoid paying for something at all costs

x2...be a little easier on the brakes sounds like the rotors are warped and that usually happens when you get them real hot

I'd take it in.....not normal for brakes to wear that quick......I've done it before and they've taken care of me.... YMMV.....my argument was what POS brakes are ya putting on my brand new car that go out in (for me it was) 12000 or so miles...needless to say they don't want that kind of publicity going on in the show room....especially when it's hard to sell cars right now......

Re: Are brakes covered under factory 3/36000 warranty.
I complained of a brake noise this past winter, and the technician test drove it and said the front pads were squealing. They ordered me the new pads and put them on when they came in.

Sorry to contradict you dude, but it's for a good cause.
All lights are covered by the 3 years warranty, that's why i haven't switched to hids/leds, and why i didn't pay to have one of my liscence plate lights replaced.
As i said, good thing!

Anything about the standard bumper to bumper 36/36,000 warranty that is too hard to understand?
