I also had to have a smoke after the exp. as well, L.O.L.

Uh no. I just wasn't expecting the new 4.0 to have that much power and torque and it caught me by surprise as well. I was impressed. The stock 302 aint putting out but 225 horses and 300 ft pounds of torque (this is the bone stock level now). Now subtract those numbers I posted from the stock numbers of the 4.0 SOHC and see how much difference there is. The 4.0 SOHC aint far from matching it at all. Plus you forget that I have had my 3.0 for 7 years now too.

Lol I haven't played with the new 3.0 vs the 4.0 SOHC, but I can tell you the old 3.0 I looked at made it seem like a 2.3l compared to my 4.0 ohv, and my 4.3 that was in my 96 Blazer, made them both seem whimpy. I was driving Aarons 3.0 one day...we partied pretty hard, and it had decent power, but for that economy I'd take the 2.3 or the 2.2l in my GMC any day hands DOWN

Yep. And after looking at the stock 302 numbers and comparing them to this engine like I said earlier, the 4.0 SOHC aint far from matching the old stock version of the 302. Plus the one I test drove was in a Ford Focus that came with a 4 banger instead. A buddy of mine performed an engine swap. He loves the 4.0 SOHC and after driving it I can see why, L.O.L.

Wait, so you're saying the 5r44 (which is in the 3.0's) is more durable than the 5r55 in the 4.0's?
If so I take it the manual trans (HD) is the way to go w/ the 4.0's if possible....

I didn't have my camera with me plus where I seen him at today I wasn't planning on taking pictures at all. I saw him today for the first time in nearly 4 years. He's a german imigrant that moved over here with his parents while he was a baby. This is one of those times I wish I had my camera with me.

Yeah he did, and he didn't show me until after I finished driving it. That's basicly when I blew a wad in my pants, L.O.L.

The auto in the 4.0 is stronger then the manual, part of the reason the transmission the tranny behind the 3.0 is stonger is because the engine has no balls lol

L.O.L. That's funny right there man. To answer your question about the photos in more detail, I saw my old friend at a local job fair today with his finished project. I wonder how the 4.0 SOHC would do in a T bucket that didn't weigh but 900 LBS with me in it?

I should have added depending on year. In my year, the auto is actually the stronger of the two.
