My speedometer only goes up to 85, and I've never had the needle even close to 85.
Fastest I've gone is like 55, lol.

Makes me wonder what my sisters v tops out at..

Ive only hit about 85 in my truck, started to get a little sketchy after that.
Ive hit 115 in my friends M3, and it still had a ways to go, and that thing was a POS

btw my camaro doesnt shut down at all it just keeps hauling ass till i run out of road. 124 mph is the time i started to slow down
my front end doesnt really float. but its still got fresh bushings, its lowered, and smaller sidewall tires XP its basically a focus with a frame...

Yeah not sure what could be different on my 2011 Ranger than a few years older one but mine is smooth as butter at 85 no joke. I could probably set the cruise control at that speed and drive from California to Texas.

Your '10 can't be that different than my '11, my guess is that your 17" wheels are turning slower allowing you to fool the governor and hit 102. My truck is bone stock on the nasty 15" 7-spoke alloys that come on the XLT.

I still need to figure out why my speedo is 3 mph fast someday. My buddies Mazda B3000 is 5-6 mph offbut he has 31x10.5 tires on stock 16" wheels.

the wheels have no effect on what speed the computer sees me going, as i havent reprogrammed anything. all the computer sees is the VSS and WSS'. my guess is probably the fact youre auto and im manual, and maybe the super- to regular- cab differences.

Yeah could be, but as an example if you take a stock truck that had 205/16/70's from the factory and then put on say 22" wheels/ tires the speedo is going to read slower than you are actually going. If you had 16" wheels/ tires and put a 14" wheel on the Speedo will read faster.

I wouldn't think much of it, My 2.9 gets up to about 85. But If this makes a difference witch I would expect it would, My truck is 21 years old.

true, but thats actual speed. my truck stops when the speedo hits 102. I'm probably only going 95 or so because my tire size is slightly smaller than stock. The truck doesnt know how fast I'm actually going, it thinks I really am going 102.

I guess you can get an uprated chip off the Net. They seem to do them for most vehicles these days - it would probably void any warranty and put your mechanical parts into early failure territory...
