Smile 2000 Ford Ranger

Hey guys just got a ranger today, Bumper is a smashed up cause he got backed into, Winshields gotta crack, and I need a new parking light. I got a few questions about it and am gonna needs some help if you can. First of the interior is filty, whats your opinion on the best way to clean it out? Second, when will the parking lights be on as the didnt come on at all on the way home. How hard is it to take a Front Bumper off? Is there an easy way to mount a subwoofer in a regular cab? And with the XLT package does it come with chrome rims or are they painted? But Back to a description, Its got around 202k miles, Almost no rust, the hood hinge is a little messed up.. one side of the hood is too low and hangs up, he said the battery died and he had cables going up to it and hood flipped up, and I only payed $1000 for it Sorry I didnt post in several different area but I just didnt have the time. Thanks.

post pics!! for the interior, start simple, vacume & armor all works wonders for a first go around.

parking lights work off the dash switch, you might need a bulb. on the '98-'00 trucks they are very easy to replace, 2 phillips head screws under the parking light assembly and the entire assembly pulls out.

and from what i've seen most XLT's had aluminum wheels stock.

you should make a signature with your trucks description so we know exactly what you have. as for the front bumper i think it is only like 2 or 3 bolts each frame rail and it comes right off. Welcome to the forum!

not bad for a grand man!

if you've got simple green it works great on wheels & tires too.

front bumper is bolted on by 4 bolts I think. when I took mine off it was nice to have someone there, its kind of heavy.
I used to have a 10inch sub in my standard cab, its not too bad if you get a truck box and a shallow mount sub but I had to take it out because I had no where to put my school/work stuff.

Well guys, I got it vacuum'd and cleaned interior a little.. Shop vacced the floor, Simple Greened the console.. To my suprise it took it almost out I hit the dash with a little Turtle Wax.. Got the hood "rigged" so it works right.. Tomorrow I might see how warm the garage is when I get home from school is, and simple green the Interior. I also found on the drivers side of the hood there is something in the engine bay spaying black stuff on my hood :/ Anybody know what that is?

If your seats are still dirty, you can do what I did and pull them out, remove the covers, and wash them in your washer and dryer. Although getting the seats apart and reassembled was kinda tedious, I'm very, very happy with the results. Looks and sounds like you got a great deal on that one! It's the same config. as my first Ranger, and I love that thing.

If the main amount of stains dont come out Ill just pick up a 60/40 seat cover.. How hard is it to pull the seats? I want to pull em out just to clean the interior better..

The seats are only held in by four bolts (8 bolts total for both seats). They're very, very easy to remove. Just make sure you unplug the seat belt sensor before you yank the seat out.
