Default clanking sound at slow speeds on bumpy roads.

I have noticed that sometimes at slow speeds, around 20-30 I can hear a clanky sound that seems to be comming from behind the cab, or possible farther back. Is this a problem or am I just being paranoid?

I know this is a dead post, but it might benefit the search archive. My receiver hitch clanks around when it is left in. It freaked me out the first couple of times I heard it, and it took me forever to figure out what of was.

i have the same problem also, took my bedliner off and 2 bolts holding the bed down were sticking about 1 inch up. These older 4cyl's aren't made to be doing 20-30 down bumpy roads anyways, just let it drive herself in 1st and take it slow

Check your shackles!

I had one shackle rust all the way thru(Dam north east salt!)

Easy fix, but needs to be done!

I had a Bronco II do the same thing, but it was the shackle and the hanger that broke.
