Craigslist ranger is this good deal?

http://dayton.craigslist.org/cto/2457595369.html I'm going to look at this truck soon and was gonna trade my ford probe GT automatic for it which is in good shape but honestly i miss having a truck i really wanted an extended cab ranger but can't find any around here under $3000 and if there is one its got too many miles on it. I will either trade the car to him and have him pay me 100 bucks difference. would that be a good deal?

looking at it tomarrow he offered me 2000 for my car or just a trade. i just got offered a sonoma lowered extended cab flat black with 140k miles but im not into lowered trucks so im gonna turn it down

he says the ranger is just the base model no AC or abs but has power steering. my last ranger had the 3.0L engine what should i look for in this cause it has the 2.3L i assume what should i look for when looking at the engine because i don't know my way around the 2.3L engine so to speak :P

ok guys the sonoma guy just offered me money and the trade i think i'll go look at it cause if i could get 500 or 600 out of him thats money in the bank and a small sacrifice to make for a lowered truck

So on that base model ranger the first link i posted what should i pay attention to when i go test drive it? and what should i look for when checking out the engine?

I would just pay attention to how 'tight' the truck as a whole feels, let go of the wheel while driving to see how it tracks, and have the window down and listen for any noise/squeeks the suspension makes when going over speedbumps and stuff.

He didnt say what motor it has. hmmmm
