I sold my camper so had no need for a SuperDuty any longer and got sick of 12 MPG average. I found the Black Widow at GermanTown Tennessee on the internet. I traded my 2004 F250 SuperCab Lariat 4 door 2wd that was absolutely loaded to the hilt and they gave me $4000 cash to boot. I have always wanted a Ranger since my days in a 1992 B2200 regular cab. I knew I wanted an Edge SuperCab 4 door with a 2.3 or 3.0 and 5 speed auto. The Black Widow was the only Ranger out of probably 100 in the past year I have test drove all over creation while looking for one that everything works just like new and has bedcap, bed extender, sprayon bedliner and new tailgate and new steel rear bumper.

Went to Capital Ford in Raleigh in the summer of 1998 with my son-in-law who was looking to buy an Explorer. I had no intention of buying anything. Saw the truck on the lot, liked the color, splash bed, alloy wheels & that it was a 4X4. Asked how much, made a counter offer of $15K OTD. Drove it home that day @ $15K OTD, $0 down, 0% interest for 60 months ($250 a month).

The next day took to to Rhino to get the bed sprayed & outside of tires that was the most money I have spent on it at one time since new.

I asked the father in-law to sell me his for 4k and he said no even after I offered 5k. Not just a regular no but a hell no not in my lifetime. About a year later he went in for open heart surgery. After he was able to come home, about a week later I get a call. It's the mother in-law asking if I still want to buy the truck. I was shocked and amazed because I was just about to buy one from a local used car lot and he said he would never sell.

To top it off he only wanted 1k for the truck free and clear! The truck was 15 years old at the time with only 69k miles. Best incestment i've ever made

Was looken for a Escape or Explorer. Was trying to make a deal with a Dealer #1 on a Escape. Was trading in my Wife's VW Jetta. Dealer #1 wouldn't come off $500 to make the deal. So, when I was leaving Dealer #1, I saw the truck across the street at Dealer #2. Walked into Dealer #2 with the numbers from Dealer #1 and said can you add $500? They looked at the car, said yep and I walked out the door in 45 mins.

Bought my Super Duty in the same fashion when I traded in my Explorer. Easiest car buying experiences I've ever had.

I had inherited my moms 93 camry with about 250,000mi on it when i was 15, i had been working on it with plans to lower it and get into the ricer scene (im glad i got out of that phase) when the oil pump died and killed engine #2 in the car, thats when I decided to become a truck guy haha

found my truck on craigslist about an hour away, went and looked at it, fell in love lol
the price was waaaay too good to be true, but being 16 and kinda dumb i threw some money at the guy (who claimed all was mechanically well) and drove it home about a week later

andd then it blew up after a month and 2 engine rebuilds later, blah blah got ripped by a shady old man, found out it had a salvage history blah blah, i fell in love with my ranger and will probably never sell it, but i do plan on getting a 4.0 4x4 someday

Day I bought it, still sitting in the old man's yard:

2 engine rebuilds and about $2000-3000 later, this is where we sit today:

(SOLD) 1970 F100 Ranger, 2bbl, 302, all original except 3 on the floor conversion
(SOLD) 1999 3.0 2WD- wrecked, rebuilt 3.0, 235/75/15 wranglers on factory chrome, little mods here and there
(DEAD) 1995 Toyota Camry XLE v6, replaced ranger for all of 2 weeks, victim of hit and run
2004 explorer eddie bauer- 4.6, fully loaded, all around awesome truck
1991 Chevrolet Silverado, 5.7 350, bigger cam, 31's on 7in rallys

I had a 2000 Jeep wrangler. Loved the thing but the frame rotted out on it so I had to sell it. Listed it for $4500 (Granted it was considered totaled because of the frame) and it sat there for two months. In that time, hurricane Irene came along so the jeep was rolled out and driven through 3+ Feet of water for two days.

A guy called me up and offered $4500 for it, since it was damaged in the storm we finally settled on $4000 (For a totaled, base model Wrangler with over 160K on the odo).

Once I had my cash I started looking. My dad had a friend with a dealers license who snuck us into an auto auction. We looked around the lot for a while and found a handful of small trucks. The first one that came up on the block was a white 1998 ford ranger stepside. Since it was more or less what I wanted, we bid and won it for $2,700 (Kbb was $5,100)

Had it for 6 weeks, already put over 2,000 miles on it and thus far its been trouble free, although I am looking for a fleetside bed for it.

I bought a Cavalier brand new in 2004. Drove the wheels off it. last year a dump truck need the lane I was in more than I did and ran me into the curb of the median, bent the front strut and busted the wheel bearing. I replaced both and it was better but not right. As of late it had become a Deer magnet. Hit two in less that two months and tore the front end off. Found the truck on auto trader in Cary NC ( there is a 2006 FX4 level 2 here for sale also let me know if interested and I will tell you where it is) went and looked at it, came back a few days later haggled a bit and bought it.

My second 94 escort sedan finally bit the dust. My Dad was driving the 2006 Ranger for 3 years. I needed something to drive, so I took over the payments of the 06 Ranger and my Dad got his 2010 F150.
