Default Your Dream of Owning a Ranger.

I recall back in '83 when Ranger first started to come out, I was down to the Ford Dealer checking it out, and grabbing the sales brochure and read it page to page every night in bed! I would day dream many times of driving a Ranger XLT two tone grey, Diesel w/ 5-speed.

Around late 80's after I've been driving a few years, figured I'd take a Ranger out for a test drive, mom came along, and I loved it!!! But being a young pup, I didn't have the money to buy it, so I had to settle with a '79 Mustang.

After I got out of college, I looked at a used Ranger, and the price was still high for my budget. (new and used) So, I end up with a used '87 Chevy S-10. I wish i've never brought that tuck.. Did not ride the the Ranger, and was a lemon! Gave it up after having it 2 years, and got a brand new '93 Ranger XLT. Sold that after 3-4 years of having it. Wish I kept it oh well.

Then we brought a house 5 years ago, and I kept on telling myself I'm getting a Ranger! Well, we had things that needed to be done to the house before I had the money for it. Then came spring of '09, I said that's it! I shopped around for used one since I know I was not going to go anywhere with it.. But the prices on lot of the Ranger I was looking at was not that much cheaper than a new one.. So, I got a new one instead!

Awesome! I used to dream of having a Ranger too. I used to tell my dad my wish list for it and how I wanted a cap for camping. I love my Ranger, I guess I loved it enough to buy a second one. Currently at the shop and I really feel lost without it, even though I've never had it running and haven't driven it more than on and off the trailer with it being off.

I dunno if I really just dreamed of owning one. I had a Plymouth expresso (dodge neon knock off)

It was falling apart and we went to the ford dealer fell in love with this used truck and actually walked away with a brand new 03 cause it was cheaper after rebates than the used one and I have always liked them since. Im not a full size truck kinda guy.

Maybe you live in an area where not a lot of used vehicles are available. I live in Sacramento area, about 1.8 million people in general area. Anyway, used Rangers can be found for some really good prices. All of our vehicles for the past 15 years have been used, all have been salvage. The key is patience, and know what a good deal is when you find one.

I know you are really happy with your new Ranger, so it doesn't matter now, but used deals are there. To find/buy my Ranger I had to go 250 miles out of my area, I was willing to go 500 miles if necessary ($100 in gas & food is worth it if you save $3k-5K.
