~208,000

2006 FX4 4.0 SuperCab

2nd owner, just finished putting on a set of Bilstein 4600s and can't believe what an improvement it made in driving! (just did a 600 mile camping/hunting trip)

Work we've done since buying it with 202,000 miles:
  • Bilstein 4600s front & rear (best price from Tirerack.com)
  • Replaced Thermostat Housing with cast aluminum unit
  • Full front brake job (w/new rotors).
  • Replaced radiator with Spectra Premium CU2310
  • Tightened loose pinion seal and flushed & refilled rear end (was causing whining noise and a "thunk" when taking foot off gas suddenly)
  • Cleaned and greased outboard front axle CV joint assemblies (they had gotten pebbles in them causing scraping noises)

Runs and drives great. Needs a headlight upgrade, which I'm just starting to research.

It's my son's daily driver when he's home from college, and I use it on weekends for hunting and fishing trips.

For headlight upgrade I'd strongly recommend an HID retrofit like from theretrofitsource.com. If it doesn't seem like something you can do, a member here does them. Here is his thread Checking interest: Retrofitting services Don't just toss any other bulbs in the halogen reflector, as that is ugly and annoying to other drivers
