Re: How many miles do you have on your Ranger?
175,000 miles, but my grandpa ran the hell out of it and towed 1-4 ton boats with it on Oregon mountain roads so it crapped out and I put a new engine in so 11,361 now!

Re: How many miles do you have on your Ranger?
152K miles on my 2006 3.0. I never kept track of my miles/gallon until recently. Was getting bad mileage for sure and replaced the plug, wires, coil pack, tps, iac, air filter. After the parts change, reseating the pcm cable and computer reset I started with 16+ to currently 23+ mile/gallon. Although those part changes wasn't done for bad millage but of having a P0352 code. So, yesterday I swapped my pcm with a used part in fear of having an intermittent P0352 failure(runs real bad before it throws the code). You know what, found that I had bent the original pcm pin 39 which as far as I could find on the net being the IAT to pcm connection. Why it didn't throw a code for that I have no idea but still I got up to 23+ miles/gallon with a little rough idle. I'm still having a bit of slight rough idle but am still a day, less than 40 miles after the install of a used pcm and reset. Time will tell for sure if I can get 23 mpg
If the slight rough idle is still there after some time/miles I'll pull and check the pcm cable to make sure no pins are bent like what I did to the original
Purchased and waiting for a fuel pressure gauge and vaccum gauge to get here so I could check whats going on with my Ranger also got an oil leak in which I'm hoping it's cause being the oil pressure sending unit(crossing my fingers here) as I'd hate to figure its an oil pan, valve cover, intake or even worse a real seal leak

Not yet. Not sure I am gonna thrash on this thing just yet. The other truck however, I have a hard time keeping it clean.

My uncle has a 2002 3.0 with an auto that he uses for work. He has a demolition company and he's constantly abusing that poor thing. Hauling boulders, tree stumps, concrete and rebar. With regular maintenance and driving like a granny he hasn't replaced anything mechanically, just ball joints, tie rods, etc. with 285,000 running strong. Now that's ford tough.

with a 3.0 it doesn't surprise me. Has a transmission ever been rebuilt?

Nope. Believe it or not it's all factory, I'm really suprised myself. I drove it once and I think it runs better than my 2007... Hahaa. If you don't drive like an ass and do your regular maintenance when it's due then I don't see why all cars shouldn't be able to do that.
