Default something i stumbled upon

i was very bored very late and started researching power/weight ratios of random vehicles... and as i observed, us ranger owners have very near sports car level p/w ratios. this made me smile.

2008 ford ranger: .1355 3.0 v6
2008 ford mustang: .1978 4.0 v6

those are both stock.

just sayin'

That is using the 3.slow ranger engine. did it not have the 4.0 listed?
There is also a 623 difference between the 3.0 and mustang 4.0 so they are not really equal to me.

Yes, that is a 46% difference... hardly equal at all.

Based on my calculations a 4.0 ranger extended cab has a slightly better power to weight ratio than a V6 Mustang.

4.0L V6
Ford Ranger HP 207 At 5,250 RpM
Ford Ranger torque 238 lb ft at 3,000 Rpm
Av weight is 3,100 pounds

Mustang HP 210 a 5,300 Rpm
Mustang torque os 258 lb ft at 3,500 Rpm
Av. weight is 3355lbs

now that we have the proper stats you can calculate it.
