Is the FX4 interior any different than the regular sport model? Also vinyl probably wouldn't be a bad thing. Dirty work boots will stain the carpet.

FX4 comes with the sport buckets instead of the 60/40.. or somethin.. has a center console n shit... but you can also get that option with the sport package if you want. I dunno why the hell you'd want carpet in a 4x4... I work at various construction sites and during the winter I had a shitload of mud tracked in my truck... a good inch of it at one point... I washed it all out.. looks brand new again... fuck carpet.

The difference between the XLT and the FX4 as my dealer put it.. was the XLT is an old man truck, and the FX4 is what you want. Unless you're an old man and want such a truck.

The nice part about the FX4 is there's not a whole lot of em on the road, at least in my area.. most of what I see are sport models.. so you get to be a bit different. The step bars blow, I'm pretty close to taking mine off. They are useless for stepping on unless you have tiny (nine year old girl) feet.. Other than that they have a tendency to collect mud and especially snow.. which is a huge pain in the ass. They're a pain to clean off as well.. they just hold all that shit between the step and the rocker panel.. and the brackets used to bolt em on hold all kinds of crap in them too.. They look good.. but they just aren't functional.

The 4.11 gears with l/s are awesome.. I had an 07 2wd sport with 3.73 l/s before I got the FX4 and the gas mileage differences are minimal at best.

What are they pricing you at right now on a loaded FX4? I know the sticker on mine was about 29... there's room to move.. tons of room.. you gotta play hardball.. they had $6000 off back when I bought mine... what's the deal now?

Carpet + work boots = nothing good.

I don't see too many FX4's rollin' around either to be honest. Just saw my first one today, actually. It was in white, and it looked amazing. And LOL, I guess it's pretty true. I'm not an old man at all, aha. And really? That bad eh? Wondering if there's step bars you can get aftermarket that might have a bit more functionality?

Good to hear that mileage is similar. I actually figured the 4x4 alone would decrease mileage due to the weight of the transfer case and such.

I didn't see sticker price, but I got priced at mid-23k. That's with the 6000$ off. I think it's 5000$ off for some deal, and then another grand for the employee pricing. Employee pricing ends at the end of August, so I'm shootin' to have my Ranger by then. Only thing is I'm also looking at moving out soon. Like this summer. So I really have no idea how this is all gonna work...

Was that mid 23k with tax?

The only time the gas mileage was terrible in the truck was when we first got it and were breaking it in.. The first 4 tanks were horrible.. it was winter also so that probably didn't help..

They're the same as the 07 2wd now almost exactly.. So that makes me happy.

As far as the step bar goes.. if you got something aftermarket it would just hang down too low I think.. The truck will probably look like it sits higher without em... try em out.. see what you think.. they come on the truck.. so why not..

Yes, mid 23k with taxes in. Monthly payment was something like 410$ over 4 years. Not too bad, really.

Mileage in the winter sucks all around for everybody, I think, haha.

And fair enough. I like the look of the step bars, and as long as they're not in the way, I'll probably just leave them on, regardless of functionality.

I really can't wait to get my Ranger, though. Been looking at doing a whole bunch of mods, as well as performance and mileage upgrades. Really stoked. Also, I'll finally be able to drive onto sites with my vehicle. My little Volvo gets parked on the road. It can't handle the bumpiness and whatnot. Also, the bed = more storage for tools!

When do you plan on getting it or have you bought it already?

Mid 23 with taxes in is a great deal.. The step bars aren't so much in the way.. I only notice if they're dirty, they'll make your pants dirty when you hop in and out of the truck..

In the Buy-Sell section of the Redflagdeals.com there is a 2009 FX4 in Vista Blue for $15K firm....just over 10,000km. Near Gatineau I think. Options like leather seats, subwoofer, etc.

Mid $23K with taxes is a great deal IMO. Here in BC, I had paid a couple grand more for a 2010 FX4 with auto trans. 2010 don't have LS.
