Default basic performance

Hello i have a 2001 ranger 2.3L engine. what are some basic upgrades to boost performance. to start i'd like to find a cold air intake but i'm having issues finding one. does anyone know of a good one? and also just any other tips would be greatly appreciated!

CAI won't improve your performance.
I'm not into added performance techniques, but I'm sure others can add some input.
To be brutally honest, if you wanted performance, you should have gotten the 4.0 SOHC.

No one makes CAIs for rangers, so you're out of luck.

The engine is 11 years old, i wouldn't try to get too much out of oem specs unless you plan to work on the internals.

You might not like the performances, but rest assured, some of us envy your mpgs.

That's a short ram, my friend.

A CAI would be a lot longer.

Nowhere fast, if that's what you meant.

But seriously, i'd pass on it. There's a ton of other goodies you could buy with that budget!

You would be better off buying a tuner like a SCT or DiabloSport. Then adding exhaust and a CAI
