exactly. its really weird because some of the pumps I go to all of a sudden don't have that lock mechanism anymore, and they always used to, like they went and removed them for some (stupid) reason.

thank the fire marshal. somehow, having those pumps fill automatically is a fire hazard. in the long run, it's cheaper for the stations with those pumps to remove the little mechanism instead of buying a whole new filler assembly chingadera.

I was at a BP station one time filling a Camry and I had the little lever push down so I didn't have to hold it with my hand. When the tank got full the pump did not stop, it just erupted gas out of there like a volcano.
