my "I hate Edmonton" thread

This city and possibly, country, sucks. I have never had it so bad trying to find parts for my truck or car. I have lived here for 12 years after living in the states for the previous 40. I have built numerous hot rods and 4x4's while in the states. I called around today to every 4x4 shop in the city for a pair of Belltech 6400 shackles. I found one pair that are 300 miles away and will not see them til Thursday. This is the way it is here. I got a price of 600.00 for 4 Cragar soft 8 knock-offs (Unique Wheels). I, one day, will live in the states again. THIS SO SUCKS!!!!!

thanks Nathan but I am just gonna put the project on hold til I get some real cash then I am gonna go down to the states and smuggle everything back over the border...lol
As for the healthcare being free....you get what you pay for.

Its only bad out in Edmonton cause of the work boom.. EVERYTHING went up in cost. I am originally from Edmonton and it was never this bad before lol

yes we dont pay anything, therefore its free.

Hey at least AB has lower tax, I pay 12% on everything here. One of the reasons I make trips to Edmonton about 4 times a year. And PG is horrible for finding anything in town, most stuff is overnighted from Edmonton or Kelowna.
I haven't had issues with healthcare, although it did take my sister almost a year to get her knee surgery done.
Oh and I'm around the 40% income tax bracket... it sucks.

Hey Darkstar....I am not bashing the country other than the availability of stuff...I didn't say shit about healthcare or even the fact that I have been bashed over and over again about being American. I have lived in Canada for 12 years and like it just as much as the states. Even though for the most part Canadians can't stand Americans, they love to go to the states on vacation and they love to buy product from the states. I just want the availability of stuff I need for my truck and I don't need another pinhead Canadian to not understand what I am venting about and tell me to go back to the states.

dude im in california, im paying about 30-35 percent income tax... its not that much different here. the feds have me at 25% and the state is close to 10% i believe.

First off how am i a pinhead? i told you i understand the issue with the availability of parts, i work in a shop, we have to get things shipped from all over hell and some times wait a few days for it
