Bring back the Edge model....
Here's a question that I've always wanted to know. Why did they get rid of the Edge model of the ranger, and why won't they bring it back? It's more than just a "trim package", alot more. If you don't have an Edge model, you're wanting one. I feel that this was Ford's best design work on the ranger platform that they have ever done. They should've kept it. But in their infinite stupidity, they got rid of this model. Out of the entire ranger line up, this one was indeed the most popular. Why would you get rid of it?

bingo. when ford released the Edge SUV they didn't want to confuse people by having a Ranger Edge as well as the SUV, so the package was renamed "sport"

Now we're talking class. That's what it had. They should bring back. It was the best selling version of the ranger too. People picked it out over an FX4 even. It was fairly priced and had alot of options too. Mine has a dual media stereo system in it (both cd and casette). That was where I feel they made a mistake concerning the ranger. It's the best of them all I think.

well that was in 06 when a whole bunch or ranger parts changed. the look changed for all models of the ranger.

IT'S STILL AROUND! there is nothing different between the "sport" ranger and the "edge" besides the name of the packages. NOTHING has been changed between the two, except for aesthetically upgrades that the rest of the ranger line got.

I'd still rather have the one that says "edge" on it. And you forgot something. One engine was dropped in 2008, the 3.0. I really don't care for the "sport" name being on it. And a few changes to the suspension were made as well. I KNOW IT'S AROUND STILL! I just want the name of it back. Damn it Steve, calm down, L.O.L.

I know. Alot of asthetic changes were made, such as the emblems and a few odds and ends.

That is true. It is still around as the Sport. The sport and the edge are the same all around truck except for a few very minor changes.

the difference that i dont like tis the plastic bottom on the valence....edge is ONE piece valance and the same color

NO KIDDING! Guys I know it's still around, and why would I need to do that anyway? I already have one that says "edge" on it for 7 years now. I'm beginning to regret coming back to this site, maybe I should leave permanently or something, cause this is getting old really quick.
