That's not what Ford thought at the end of the 2000 model year.lol.

The way I see it, Ford went up the ladder in good names for the colored bumper trim levels. They went from Splash, which was really wimpy, to Sport, which still was wimpy, but a little bit better than Splash, then they went to Edge, which in my opinion had the most manliness to the name. The Sport nameplate has been overused for a long time, the Edge nameplate was a fresh cookie, but Ford was dumb and decided to make that cookie into a new flavor.

Oh the drama... Btw can I recommend taking the time to make your post complete BEFORE posting it? All the ninja editing gets confusing...
I was going to, but I had a cpu problem and I didn't get a chance to really "proof read" it and edit my post before someone responded. That was my fault really.

It just seemed like it at the time is all. Plus you ought to know better than most people that I got alot on my plate right now and I guess the stress was getting to me a bit.

If you look at the 01 brochure where they introduce the edge. It is to appeal to the middle aged man as a aggressive truck. Kinda weird they only used it from 01-05 then went back to the sport name.

Appealed to me at the time when I was 23

I like the color matched flares more then the textured. I also at the time liked the color matched bumpers. Now I have chrome.

I've always heard it was aimed at the 21-30 crowd?

Yeah pretty much that's all they did really. They wanted a fresher approach to bring in the younger generation into the fold really. I really can't see too many differences really. Just the name, and the emblems is the only differences I see.

Oxford White and Bright Island Blue Metallic Ranger Edges appealed to me when I was 16. Never have really cared for the textured flares on the Fx4 either. But now i'm warming up to them.

Agreed. Although my truck might have had at least one elderly owner in it's life.

I am absolutely in love with my edge. And I think edges are one of the nicest things that ford has ever Cole out with. It would be nice seeing a crew can edge or like a 2011 edge
