Default 2004 Ranger 4x4 front brake issue

Hi all,
When applying the brakes on my Ford Ranger, after coming nearly to a stop, a "baarmp" sounds appear to come from the front brake assembly area and the pedal makes a slight movement down. There is no resulting loss of brakes.
I have bled the lines and no air was present. I have also inspected and lubed the calipers. There are no leaks or fluid loss.

I am wondering if this is a safety issue. ABS related ??

If the break pedal is pushed with engine off, I get a hard pedal after 2 pushes. As soon as the engine is started and pressure on the pedal is maintained, the pedal goes down. Is this the normal operating process? I get the impression that the pedal is going to far down. Could this be a problem with the booster.

Thanks,
Bob.

What year truck is this?

Sounds like a ABS issue. Have you jacked the truck up and spun the wheel and have some one press on the brake?
