Arrow Big ass dilemma! (what should I do?)

Alright so now that i have figured im adding a mustang dome light (lol)
I need another opinion.

Ive been saving Up for a camburg 6.0 Entry Kit seen here
http://www.camburg.com/ford/ranger-e...d/entry-level/

you can see the price, 1700 parts, 400 install fee.

Now Ive been thinking Instead of that I could Get this.

http://www.dixonbrosracing.com/content/view/114/2/

Its a cantilever suspension system and it is very sexy! but also kind of pricey 1500 bucks. Not counting I would have to buy Shocks. But install is free since I would do it. The only downside is that Its only for the rear so i would have to buy a front setup. And that would Be Just some 3 inch spindles For now Until I can save up for the front end.

So give me your opinon on wtf i should do.

thanks guys! -DB

i paid less for my set up with shocks than the dixon bros kit is listed for. their website is still being built, but check out dezertrangers garage fab and shop reviews sections, brandon always satisfies his customers.

you talking to me in both parts? yeah, the rear suspension has been like that since i posted the pics. the front got changed out about a month ago. i'm just waiting on an issue with my shocks to get resolved before i can install them. doesn't matter much since i have a different DD and the truck just sits.

as for the camburg kit, if they haven't redesigned their spindles yet, i would save my money until they do. Alon is very touchy on this subject, but multiple people with their 'new' design posted up that the plate the lower ball joints mount to has bent, quite badly on some. it's not a set up issue, it's their design at fault. even a kit installed by them, with the 2 shocks up front (upgraded to SAWs), and with limit straps/bumps mounted correctly had worse bending than the person who first posted about it.

Yeah I realized after I looked at the thread, my brain turned off.

whats the issue with the shocks?
did this give you any sort of lift in the rear?

and if there is issues on the camburg spindles then I should just go with the other option? Spindles and The Cantilever?

Sorry about all the questions, I just want to get a first hand account with it before I do it.

Sorry about all the questions, I just want to get a first hand account with it before I do it.
i re-valved my shocks, but it ended up being a bigger pain in the ass than anticipated and needed a special ($40) tool to fill them back up with nitrogen, so i just sent them to Fox for the cost of shipping, posted them for sale, and bought a set of new 2.0x8" remote res shocks that i'm waiting on BTF to get time to build the shock towers for.

the lift in the back is because of my leaf springs. i have a set of deaver f-23, a discontinued pack that is similar to the f-31 they now make. i get about 2.5" of lift i'd say, but the leaves are old and need to be taken to deaver for a full prep and re-arch.

as for the spindles, you could do a fabtech spindle then get a set of BTF upper control arms, the same set up that Alon has on the front of his ranger. It ends up being cheaper than the Camburg kit, won't bend at the lower ball joint mount, and just as strong.

Damn that sucks.

Ill have to PM Alon on that, That sounds pretty solid.

Then When thats over I can work on the rear with the Cantilever. But I think im gonna go with that option. sounds sick i just gotta figure out how to make it work.

FYI I picked up my springs for $300. They're used, but nothing a little TLC couldn't fix. Race-Dezert and DezertRangers classifieds ftw.

the system i have is all bolt on. brandon only installed the cross members for me, i did everything else at the same time so i could swap my 8.8 in. mine might be for sale soon, i'm debating going to a traditional bed cage set up.

edit: right now, i'm getting 14" of travel, using about 8-8.5" of a 10" shock. if i modify my gas tank cross member, i could get more droop travel. i also have a 2" drop hanger, and a set of 6" (around there, i forget the exact #) set of shackles that a buddy and i designed in our solid works class.
