Exclamation Tool Box & CB & gas milage

I really need a tool box and a cb radio with an 8ft antenna, I live in Lancaster SC, does anywhere know where I can get one?? I am getting my 2000 Ranger v6 lifted and bigger tires, as well with a tune up on Monday, anyone know what kind of gas milage I can be looking at? I have the muffler cut off down to the cadalidic converter if that helps at all. Thanks!!

All depends on what gear ratio you have. http://www.fordrangerforum.com/drive...xle-codes.html<===CLICK

Also what year truck, engine. 2wd or 4wd

Try creating a signature so we can better help you

Okay I'll go do that now. But I have a 2000 Ranger, 2WD, manual, V6, not sure about the gear ratio... Whatever is stock.

Look at your door and match the code up to the chart.

I figure it is stock. If it is anything less then 4.10 then your gas milege will suck.

I had 3.55 gears with 31" tires and I was only getting maybe 15mpg

It's a 4L V6. I'll go match it up in a few. Is there anything that can be done to it to get better mileage? I'm going to be driving to GA in two months and it is getting tuned up tomorrow. Gas is around $3.42 here.

And if you guys don't mind helping me out, I really want to mount some speakers in the tool box whenever I get one. How would I be able to do that and hook it up to a switch? I know that it's not the smartest thing to do and I should just put an extra wire and put a removable one, but I really want to and need to know how.

If it is getting tuned up you should be alright. I would consider changing fuel filter as well.

As far as speakers go I would recommend marine speakers.

x2 on the marine speakers suggestion.

Depending on the mileage your truck has, perhaps you could consider seafoam as well.

the 4L has limited potential when it comes to fuel econo so other then that you're not going to have much better.

So how would I go about hooking it up? What kind of switch and all would I have to do? Sorry I really need step-by-step instructions.

If you want to be able to switch output over to a separate pair of speakers you'll have to use an DPDT switch (or an audio selector) so that you'll be turning a pair of interior speakers off when you switch the exterior speakers on.
