Default My 2005 Ford Ranger's belt keeps making a High pitch noise....?

Ok i have had the pulley and Serpentine belt already replaced like 2 months ago because it was doing the same thing. But now it has started up again and i am wandering what would cause this? and what i need to do to get this problem resolved. It is a automatic tranny with 22k in miles on the truck.

In all probability it's pully alignment especially if belt lube only works for a short time, then the noise is back. This could be any pully, alternator, waterpump, powr. strg, a/c compressor etc, or the idler pully you replaced. My daughter had/has the same problem with her Ranger before and after replacing same parts you have. She just turned the radio up.

there's a spray you can buy at ur local auto store. had the same problem, read the directions first. that should work.

You can buy belt dressing that will help keep it from slipping. It's basically like a contact cement. It gets sticky and keeps the belt stuck to the pully. The belt dressing is not a permanent fix and if you just replaced the belt then that's not gonna do much because the problem is probably in your pulleys themselves.

Take it back to a mechanic and tell them you think something is wrong and the belt keeps squeeking. It's probably a misaligned pulley or the belt is slightly too loose.
