Default Here we go yet again...

I just heard from an old friend who works for Ford's design dept. He said that they're trying to decide what to do with the Ranger platform yet again. He also says that they're planning on getting rid of it again which he says has come up in meetings several times here recently. I say BULLSHIT. I've heard that for the last 4 years and have yet to see it happen. I don't really want to hear it, but since I haven't heard from my friend in a while I figured I'd hear him out for fuck's sake. He said based on what he knows, he thinks they'll do nothing and I agree with him on that alone. I think they're getting what I call an idea overload. It's where they get too many suggestions and different ideas on what to do about the aging ranger platform and they really don't how best to use the ranger either. I think you guys are just like me and want to see some action rather than hear the same bullshit rumor that we've heard for the last 4 fucking years. They won't get rid of it or they don't know how they can change the design without changing their tooling or what have you. I think redesigning it would be a bit of a mistake production wise, but at the same time they do need to do something with as well. I see their problem and I can't really blame them, but it will be like what happened to the Taurus. They'll get rid of it, and then bring it back and it will cost more than an F150 if they do. You'd figure that they would've learned from their mistakes on past models. I'M ALSO TIRED OF POSTING ABOUT THIS. My project "OPERATION FRANKENSTIEN" will be occuring soon and I am looking forward to it.

I'd say you're probably right. I haven't talked to him in almost 7 months. I try to avoid talking to him any more to be honest. The only reason he called other than to bullshit, is to check up on me a bit and see how I was doing after the tornados hit my area. To be honest I think he was just wanting to bullshit and nothing else. I'm tired of posting this thread and have got bigger fish to fry than to repeat the same post over and over again. The only reason I posted this time, was to let people on here and a few friends that I have on here know about the name I came up with for my project which is "OPERATION FRANKENSTEIN". Pretty kool title huh?

yeah I know right? I just don't listen to him anymore. Mom answered the damn phone before I told her if it's so and so don't answer it and if she did tell him I wasn't here and wouldn't be back for a couple of days.

I would cream my pants if they would re-design the Ranger. But I dont think thats gonna happen. I think ford will stop making it, only to see how they fucked up and bring it back, but re-designed.

The whole rnager not being made then the talk of it coming back is like Michael Jordan when he retired from basketball, came back, retired, then came back, and retired again... it gets old!

x2 lets put this to rest. At least in 20 years, our rangers will be welcomed sight to vintage car shows. I can see some 40 yr old dude telling his kid "daddy had one, it rode like tank and handle like a bus, but it saw me through a lot of shit" Ranger FTW

mines got around four hundred thousand miles and counting on it. only thing wrong with it is it leaks freon out of the evaporater core and i don't won't to pull the dash out and replace it......and dang sure ain't gonna pay anyone to do it.
however if they offered a small v8 in it that would be pretty cool.

It will be the Taurus all over again. Retire it, introduce a new car and then rethink their decision. Then remove the emblem from the new car and put a Taurus emblem on it.

So ford will bring back the ford Courier and it will be hideous, make it for 3 yrs and then revamp it as the ranger?

It's a plan that I have for a ranger that's been in the works for years. I have wanted to do this and every time I attempt it, something always happens and fucks it all up for me. Either it gets put off or I end up changing something cause it didn't work out practically or mechanically.

The exact same thing as with the taurus and the new crown vic blakchawk police car. They retire the wrong thing and when they realize it, they bring it back redesigned with an extremely high price tag that people can't really afford.

Tell me about it. I'm getting tired of hearing and posting about it. Ford will screw it up yet again as they have with previous models in the past. I hate repeating certain types of threads, I really do. It get's old real quick and this will be the last time I even mention anything like this on here again. I swear it. I just wanted people to know about my upcoming project called "operation frankenstein". That is the only reason why I posted this thread. I just wish they'd make up their minds for christ's sake.
