Default questions about buying a 2wd ranger

So im thinking about getting a second ranger to commute in, it will be 2wd and probably a 4 banger, might drop it later so is it easier to drop a ttb or a arm ranger? And most importantly what kind of mileage are you guys getting in them? Hopefully in a manual.

On the highway you could probably see some mid 20's the mileage, but a low slung 2wd is still not aerodynamic, and getting up to speeds will be more difficult for the weaker 4 cyl in a truck than in a 4 cyl car. For a commuter, you are better off getting a small 4 cyl car

The thing is im occassionally gonna need a place to sleep for my new job, so having a shell on the truck and sleeping in the bed will be a lot easier than sleeping in a car.

Ask casper. or smakes lol. A arms are easier to drop. 4 bangers get about the same as 3.0s

When I had my 98 with the 2.5 I got a solid 23 mpg. Now it was a reg cab short box, so very light and I had ran 235 street tires on it. It was an automatic. I firmly believe if you want a 4 popper ranger for fuel mileage you need to have the bare bones minimum. Mine was just an XL. Very light and was a good mpg'ener

hmmmmm idk if i want something with that low of mpg, basically i could be given a 48 hour notice, and i have a 5 hour maybe a bit larger range of where i have to be to run the train, so they said i could be stationed there for a day or a week before i go some place else, so i want to look at putting a bed in the back of a truck. but if im going to be doing this a lot, i dont want to be driving at 23 mpg, i want mid to upper 20s....
