Interesting. I had this warranty recall already done... sheesh.. must be a year and a half ago, already. are they re-re-recalling it? last year's (or the last tmie, whenever it was) recall about this issue specifically mentioned a select set of Rangers as well (and the same year Mazdas, by the way, also have the same problem), and I was included in the group then [2001 Ranger]
Do we need to get another harness now? or??

I still LOL at ford recalling the recal fix. Only took me almost 6 months to get the proper recall fix, which was a fused harness.
The original recall for the cruise was probably issued nearly 2 years ago I'd guess?

Ford sent me a notice of the first recall, because of work, I didn't get it for a month, then when I did there was another letter from Ford saying that my truck wasn't part of the recall and apologized for sending the notice of recall. Go figure.
We'll see what happens this time.

What happened to a lot of people was that Ford ran out of the updated harnesses...

I got a recall letter from Ford about a week after we registered my truck in NC.
The fix only took 10 mins at the local Ford dealer (car, truck and commercial, not a place I should go without a drool bib). I asked if they changed anything out, the guy said something about switching a cable and adding more heat shielding to it.
Worth doing, how much would it suck to find your pride and joy in a fiery state?

Guess Raleigh is good for something then.
I pulled in to the covered drop-off area (it was raining), the Ford Tech brought out his clipboard, checked in my car/took the keys and I had almost enough time to enjoy a complimentary cup of damn fine coffee before the receptionist lady came over to give me my keys back.
I was in and out in about 15mins

I just say on the news, where a house fire in the Portland, OR are, is being blamed on a Lincoln Towncar. The fire marshall stated that the fire started on the driver side, where the wiring passes threw the firewall, could be for the same thing the recall is all about.
The house is a total loss, now the question is, who will pay for this, the insurance company or Ford Motor Co..
