So I took half the day off; went with the girlfriend to the baseball game.

Parked my Ranger in a Central Parking Systems lot, with person at front.

Came out after the game







Bad news::

They hit 14 of the 18 cars in the lot.
They stole 3 cars!
Broken Passenger door lock (that I fixed last month)
Got my radio (4 days old!), got my GPS (5 yrs old, paid $40 at pawn shop for it).

Pryed/smashed the dash-surround. Broke my tachometer front (gauge still works at least).

Broke the ACTUAL dash, smashed apart in 4 places on the top.

They tried to steal the truck itself, there are pry marks on the hood and the starter wire was cut off the starter/ touching the housing.


Good news:: when I mounted my radio I left sharp jagged edges of steel, that the brilliant theives grabbed heartily, there was blood all over the center console/top.

Both the GPS and radio have registered serial #'s.

And they didn't break the sliding rear window that I installed yesterday. Or take my radar detector, or speakers (that weren't mounted). Or take my power invertor either.

Called cops, Denver Police sent (1) officer to respond to 14 people's claims. After 2hrs' they sent a second officer to help take reports and told us all to check craislist/pawnshops etc. But basically said there's nothing they can do.
They DID however, take the bloody center console top as evidence when I begged them to test it, even at my cost. (it's not about the $$, it's about putting bastards in jail).

It happened a block from Coors Field, in downtown Denver. SO I did a thorough search of the area, found 11 business with cameras in that alley, and 4 with cameras on the street, they had to come from one of either of those routes. ANd MUST have had a car to get away with 14 radios/ other crap/etc.

I made sure that every business owner knows exactly what happened, almost all said they would check their tapes and get back to me tomorrow/next day with anything they have.

Stupid F*cking Thieves! With that many cameras in that dense an urban area it's only a matter of time until they turn up. I hope they are lucky enough to only get caught by the police.

Got a friend a donate a head unit that works to get me going again for some tunes.
Took the sleeve that it slides into with security mounts and welded it to the hole in the dash, welded the hole in the dash edges to the metal dash itself. STeal that this time bastards

That sucks dude...I dont see why you welded it though? If they cant steal it, they will just break it to be dbags...Then you will have a hell of a time replacing it. Hope they catch the chickenshits...and I wouldnt doubt if the security guy at the front of the lot had soemthing to do with it.

I welded in the solid mounts, I can get it out from behind very easily if I take the lower dash completely apart, lol.

This is why I have a cheap head unit, it was $80, if they wanna smash another one, I really can't stop them either way.

With that many cameras though hopefully something caught enough of who it was to lead me somewhere.

I thought having a truck from 1983 would be a decent theft deterennt but they didn't seem to mind smashing the 04 escalade either so.

That suck man. People that steal stuff piss me off. Worthless bastards are the scum of the earth. Someone tried to steal my bike the other day, came out of class and found my lock cut half threw. I sure was pissed. But I digress, I hope everything works out for you and those bastards end up behind bars, or better yet get caught by some guy who beats the shit out of them for breaking into their truck.

got a call from a pawn shop on W/ Colfax, someone came in with 3 head units, my serial number came back stolen! Called Denver PD and nabbed his ass!! Now to hope they get them all

I'm sorry you have had to deal with this, same thing happened in my neighborhood with kids smashing back windows of cars...So one night my buddies and I decided to freeze some paint balls and hang out on the roof drinking some beers, we got lucky...a truck drove by and they tried to swing at my truck...well they got light up with some paint balls, we got there plate # I called my soon to be brother in law, he is a cop and patrols my hood, he caught up with them and 8 kids got arrested! and when they claimed they had been attacked by someone with a paint ball gun, he said prove it...well they couldn't! Hope the others get caught too! And this reinforces why you should register things you can!

Glad they got caught. When mine was broken into they took my GPS, iPod and cord to the Radio. the power cord from my CB and the Cig Outlet splitter.

To be honest I think it was the kid down the street or one of his friends. Now Ive got an Alarm and a Gun so I hope they try to pull that sh!t again. None of my stuff ever turned up.

Sorry to hear you all had your vehicles broken into. O.P, glad to see they didn't get away clean, and glad to see at least one of them got caught and that you got your radio back. Hopefully the little piglet they caught squeals on the rest of them.

As for radios go, this is why I'm hiding my radio in the F100. I have the stock AM/FM knob/shaft style radio in the truck. They can take that all they want, it doesn't even work and all the power wires are cut on it. I'm gonna have a separate harness hidden with the main harness that runs behind the seat to the other radio which will be hidden far from where it can be seen.

Be careful when you set traps for criminals though guys, I remember somebody here saying before that one guy did that and got in trouble for it. So be weary and have friends in the government.

That sucks hard. Im sorry man it always sucks having something you worked hard for to be stolen.
