I think it looks good!
It might just be perfect for the Ranger bed

Alright, BOX showed up today! Unfortunately I shipped it to work and I'm at school today hahaha. So "install" will be tomorrow.

I did however decide on how I want to secure it down. Shane (fx4wannabe) has some leftover bed bolts he used with his body lift. should be PERFECT length taking the thickness of the box and my bed mat into consideration. So I just have to drill two holes big enough to thread the bolts through the nottom of the box, use some rubber washers to retain seal on box and I'm good to go!

if you had enough rubber or bed mat material, i'd almost line the bottom of it with rubber before you bolted it down. because you're gonna want some kind of liner.

fits all my tools, floor jack, snow chains, and still have a fair amount of room left thing is ROCK solid lol. i'm gonna use an L bracket off of the bed bolts in the front and bolt the box in

gotta mod it a bit, it has latches on both sides so i want to use a hinge on the back for easier access. i'm gonna line the inside with some spray liner, maybe....do the outside in it as well or do it in winter camo

aren't bodylift bolts going to be a bit long? i highly doubt your box is 3" thick.

unless you have other plans, i'd recommend reconsidering the bolts.lol toolbox looks crazy good/sturdy though.

noob question but why would it need a valve? uness it enables u to carry stuff like gas...?

----------

love it (based on pics) but i would hate the 2nd latch in the middle. thatd drive me nuts esp if the truck is muddy or wet or something an di have to lean against the truck to unlatch it

Yeah bed bolts are a no go by themselves(too close to the front) so I'm using L brackets as mentioned

Yes I'll be climbing into the bed of my truck to open it up now hahaha. But no big deal.

The pressure release valve is for changing altitudes. Sounds silly I know but this thing seals up tighter than a ticks A$$ lol. The rubber seal is like a 1/2" thick

are you hellbent against drilling 2 holes in the bed?

you can always remove the middle latch...

pressure release valve? i think that's gonna be a touch on the overkill side of the line.

Yeah I don't wanna drill anything, with all the rain we get i'd be worried about it rusting out and what not. That being said....when I finally get around to doing a bedliner I'll probably go ahead and drill it before getting sprayed and i'd be good to go!

LOL @ the pressure valve! I agree hahaha. But it does add to the uniqueness of the box I suppose

Decided on paint! Picked up some rustoleum primer, and hammered finish silver and grey(did some research and people say its danged close to powdercoat durabilty if you prep right) I'm thinking do the lid in silver and the bottom half in black. And then spray on liner on the inside should look awesome and hold up too!

work and school are making progress slow haha. manged to get the surface rust off of a few spots and got all the lettering off. picking up some hinges and a padlock assembly tomorrow and rivet everything on/remove latches on the back. MIGHT swap the heavy duty rubber seal for a foam one to make opening/closing alittle easier as well. still deciding on how to mount it. may end up drilling holes after all I'm thinking welding some nuts under the bed would be awesome. then all i need is a ratchet to take it in and out if need be!
