Going to the dealership tomorrow...
She has a few issues Right outer tie rod is shot and rubbing the dust shield. Possibly shot bearing. U-Joints squealing in reverse. Alignment. New tires. Mounting and balancing. I just hope I have her back for the weekend. Anyone else feeling the pain of their truck?

Re: Going to the dealership tomorrow...
yeah prepare to bend over when the dealership writes that bill up, they will soak you, but thats the name of the game when you own/drive any vehicle, they cost money to own. be glad you have a ranger because they are cheaper to maintain than other trucks. im looking at over $400 for brake parts on my F-150 right now

Re: Going to the dealership tomorrow...
well...i know it will be steep because of the tires...but my dad just happens to be the parts manager at this said dealership...so I get a pretty damn good deal.

Re: Going to the dealership tomorrow...
Dude I'd go with a private mechanic not the dealer. Around where I live there's an ASE certified mechanic on almost every street corner who will work like that for half what the dealer charges...
... but yeah, I'm feeling the pain. As of this past week I'm shelling out for two new wheel hubs and a new auto transmission
Edit... nevermind, just saw where you said your dad worked at the dealer.

Re: Going to the dealership tomorrow...
This is why I do all my own work.
I've only had the truck in the shop three times, the first was after I bought the truck when something failed a week after I bought the truck. The dealer paid for that. The second two were for new tires. I'm not properly equipped to mount and balance tires.

Re: Going to the dealership tomorrow...
although if you look on some auction sites you can snag up equipment like that for cheap. I saw a lot of 3 coats wheel balances go for $1000...sell them for even a low $500 a pop and you make profit!

Re: Going to the dealership tomorrow...
I'm amazed at what stuff goes for. a deuce and a half that RUNS can be snagged for the price of a quad...4x4 single seater or 6x6 platoon seater diesel...i think we know what wins there...shes going in the air tomorrow and I'll let you guys know what the damages come to. Bu the sad thing is the tires won't be in yet so I'll have to go back on a Saturday to get them slapped on.
