Default Thinking of trading in/up

Guys, I am really tired of having a 2wd, and I think I found a suitable replacement. Here is the story. I have a 2004 Mazda6 which is decently modded. I owe money on the car, just about what its worth. I also have a 1999 Mazda B2500 with 130k which I own outright. I am very interested in this Ranger.

I think their price is pretty good, but I would still try to work them down a bit. My plans would be to put the Mazda6 as far back to stock as I can with the parts I have, sell the truck outright, and use part of that money as a down payment. This will guarantee me lower payments than what I am paying for the 6 at the moment, and get me into a 4x4 which I really want. And not just any 4x4, an FX4 Level 2. What do you guys think? Is this worth the trouble?

Oh yea, I would sell the mods from the 6 too, and use that money to get this truck where I want it. IE bigger tires.

personally id sell ONE CAR to get another TRUCK.

but im biased cuz you said b2500.....i love those.

can you live without the second vehicle?

imo, if you own it.....keeping it isnt gunna hurt you THAT much.

Im sorry that LII looks beat especially for close to 12k. you can get one in almost mint condition around here for cheaper than that. ANd to further put it into perspective, I paid $14.5k for my truck with 25k on the clock in mint condition. Thats only about 2500 more that that truck and its looks beat to me....just my $.02.

Id keep looking. you can find plenty of LIIs for sale if you look

I love it too, but I really want 4x4. I can live with one vehicle, hell, I did it up until early 2010.

Explain more please. I see that the front valence is a little discolored, but it could just be that pic. As for finding more Level II's, this is the first one I came across after searching a handful of sites. They must not be popular around here.

Can someone define what makes a Level II different than a normal 4x4, besides the Alcoas.

idk....imo level2's are overrated.

you get alcola's with some dinky bfg's, limited slip diff, manual tcase and a few other pretty bells and whisles.

for ALOT less, you can find a regular 4x4 and do all that work for less than half the price.

ill find some aluminum wheells with tires used for under a grand, expo with limited slip for 250 at a JY, and a manual tcase for 160 with linkage at a jy....and a few pretty parts here and there, i can live without.

but im a do it yourself person and thats just my take on it...

if it was a different motor or somethin...fine, but drivetrain stuffs all bolt in..

I am a DIY guy too, but to have this from the start would really save me some troubles. Its an 04 with 70k, for a decent price.

Id have to disagree, id rather buy the loaded truck and add a few more mods. How do I know, because I got one that isnt loaded (I dont even have power locks). Id love to have a L2 anyday of the week
