Default new guy with questions

hey all,

i would like to start all by saying hi... i dont currently own a ranger, but i they have been in my family for a long time, and i will probably be buying one off my father sometime soon.

i currently own a 03 mustang, and 99 TJ Wrangler (i will be keeping both as well)

my father is looking into buying a new ranger, he currently has an FX4 level ll. and we kno the 2010 does not have this model, and the sport would be the highest available. I know it has a different 4wd system and i was wondering how much this would differ from the previous FX4 versions. Is it as sturdy? or is there something left to be desired.

I guess overall im wondering how much "weaker" would the sport be over his current one.

Thanks guys

There's not a thing different in regards to the transfer case, the front axle, or the rear axle now. Previous years got a beefier rear axle and a different limited slip unit in that axle, but those options are no longer avaliable on the rangers.

xlt = sport....there's not a darn thing different mechanically between the two.

You have to go down too the inner city to get LSD J/K

I believe ford puts L/S in all rangers that have the 4.10 gear ratio and I have never heard of a ranger with traction system

There is an option for a L/S on the custom build site, I think you have to select a higher trim model and possibly 4x4. (I am building a Ranger at least everyday, lol)

Oh and welcome.

2010's get side curtain air bags and a computer controlled roll control system...that may be what you're talking about.

If you get a 2010 with the chrome grille....SEND ME THE GRILLE!!!!!!! hehehe..I want one hardcore.
