Default Brake Fluid advice

Hello,
Been awhile since I have posted on here. Always appreciate the feedback from others on here.
Anyhow, I have a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0. I recently changed the front brakes and my friend suggested I flush the brake fluid out. The fluid is black. So I called around and got prices for $40.00 to $70.00. I also went to ask this auto shop I know of and the owner suggested to just suck out the brake fluid from the cannister(forget the proper name) and refill it with new brake fluid instead of draining out each brake nipple. Said it wasn't necessary? Don't know what to do. I need to find the manual to make sure I get the right fluid.
Thank you for your time.

I would flush the entire system with fresh fluid, becouse it is so dirty. The black color is from the rubber parts are breaking down plus metal ware.

Thank you for the reply. I felt the same way when he told me it was not necessary. Didn't make sense to me. I just have find someone for the right price.
