Default water stain on interior roof

I had posted a problem with water infiltration in my cab previously, and yesterday noticed that there is a water stain on the ceiling near the rear window. I have a 2wd reg cab. ranger pickup. will I have to take the upholstery off to see where this leak is originating from? thanks

B:

You didn't say, but has your truck ever had antennas or other punctures on the roof? That would be the first thing I'd think of...the second would be a leaky CHMSL, or third brakelight, gasket. If it's parked nose down during a rainstorm, that might make a slight leak worse.

I checked the third brake light, ran my finger inside and it was dry. today while it was rainning noticed a drop of water running down the inside trim of the rear window from the ceiling. however when I ran my hand inside the ceiling, it was dry. have to wait until a dry spell and then I'll yank the ceiling off and turn on the garden hose.thanks for responding. what's a signature? sorry, I'm not from the computer generation. I just discovered how to post pics.
